Projects for non-profit and the greater good.

I discovered my passion for nonprofit design while working on a campaign for Opportunity International at a small agency in Chicago, almost 18 years ago. This campaign taught me the benefit of getting scrappy, and solidified my love for design and art directing for all things nonprofit, charity, B Corp, and sustainability.

For the next four years, I pursued this passion by serving as Marketing Coordinator / Senior Designer at Oral Health America and Smiles Across America. As a contractor for See3 Media, I designed for non-profits such as the American Heart Association, First Five Years Fund, Volunteers of America, and Valarie Kaur's Groundswell. In my personal practice, I have worked for the ACLU of Illinois, FreeWrite JailArts, and the Chattanooga Care Connector. For the past eight years, I have led an agency design team as design director, working with clients such as Alleo Health, the Women's Fund of Greater Chattanooga, Izzi Early Education, Clínica Médicos, and Thriveworx/Thrive Farmers.

Alleo Health

Brand Development + Direction + Design

As Design Director at Widgets & Stone, I oversaw the creation of the Alleo Health Brand, an umbrella brand created for the Hospice of Chattanooga family of care. From positioning and naming to design and creative direction for websites, advertising, signage, business stationery systems, videos and more — I lead the complete rebrand.

Working with the leadership team of HOC, and incorporating feedback from a broad spectrum of employees, stake holders and board members, I provided art + design direction for the wide array of materials involved in the rebrand, including design and development of several websites and storyboarding/direction for video.

Medicos Mission Fund

Medicos Mission Fund Brand Collateral + Website

Driven by an obligation to do something new and better, Clínica Médicos and Médicos Mission Fund are set up to provide inclusive and total body medicine to Chattanooga’s underserved Latino community. Their mission is to ensure accessibility to healthcare for all, regardless of insurance status, language, pregnancy, age, or gender.

I had not only the privilege to lead the Clínica Médicos and the design team at Widgets & Stone through the branding process for their expansion with the Medicos Mission Fund, but also the honor to design various brand collateral for Clínica Médicos, alongside a new website, to communicate the exciting news about the Medicos Mission Fund.

Izzi Early Education

Website Design

As design director and designer at Widgets & Stone, I went above and beyond to create a new web experience that highlights Izzi's vast array of programs and services, as well as the unique spirit that drives their approach. We worked closely with Stitzlein Studio to incorporate their colorful and eye-catching vector shapes into the design, building animated SVG files to keep the site mobile-friendly and visually engaging.

Opportunity International

Opt-In Now Campaign

2007 —  the iPhone had just hit the U.S. I was amazed that my Creative Director, Paul Brourman of Sponge Chicago had one in his posession, and I borrowed it while he went to lunch. Using that iPhone 1, I photographed a piece of rudimentary orgami expanding on the agency floor — and then animated it in photoshop to show the idea of a micro loan infinitely multiplying to create possibilities across the globe.

I would later get to work on several other campaign graphics and help with the design for the Opt In Now website. This early explainer video and work for Opportunity International both sparked and solidified by love for nonprofit design and direction.

Groundswell

Brand Identity + Website

Founded by Valarie Kaur, Groundswell is a movement against hate. Powered by Auburn Seminary, Groundswell echoes and amplifies that call for justice welling up among the secular, the seeking, and people of faith. A movement that's not just about a single issue or political party, but a shared moral vision for a better world. Groundswell provides avenues for people of all faiths and walks of life to take strategic social action around shared moral imperatives. I had the honor of designing a logo and website for Groundswell alongside Emily Clayton, as we worked for Chicago-based See3 Media. Emily and I wanted to keep the logo clean and modern — bold, clear, and undiluted. We experimented with different accompanying marks, and ultimately didn't want to distract from the power of the name "groundswell." The final form ofof the logo, shows the physical movement of a positive uprising.

Renuevo Logo

Logo Design

Logo design for Renuevo — the mental health and counseling offering of Clinica Medicos.

By expanding the behavioral health and counseling offerings of Clínica Médicos, the bilingual mental health team of Reneuvo can address the unique and sometimes traumatic emotional and mental health burdens on Chattanooga’s underserved community. Renuevo's goal is to destigmatize these services through primary care inside the same facility. These services will occur regardless of a patient’s ability to pay, documentation, or age.

Little River Watershed Association

Brand Identity

I was approached by the Little River Watershed Association to design an identity that would help raise awareness of their vital work. Given my personal connection to the watershed, having grown up in its surrounding area, this project was particularly meaningful to me.

OHA + Smiles Across America

Logo Design

From 2009-2013, for four years of my young career I was the Senior Designer for Oral Health America and Smiles Across America — a national non-profit whose programs sought to help provide care, education and advocacy for America’s most vulnerable.

I was responsible for overseeing all graphic design and art direction for print and web, including overseeing a
re-design of all print-material to reflect new brand standards— from website re-design to social media campaigns, print and digital newsletters, annual reports and all outreach material.

The experience was formative and instilled my passion for healthcare, access to care, and inhouse brand-building.

As the child of a teacher — in a family of teachers — I have always believed in fostering and doing everything I can for anything supporting education.

That desire has let me lend my designs to many amazing programs like Chicago's FreeWrite Jail Arts and Literacy Program, Mike and Susan Klonsky's Small Schools Movement, First Five Years Fund (pictured here), Izzi Early Education, River Gorge Forest School, and more.

Logo and Website

I had the privilege of collaborating with the ProNVest / Future Capital team on an explainer video to spread the word about their portfolio management product. As art director, I lead the team through an initial exploratory phase, carefully presenting and experimenting with a myriad of illustration styles to ensure we found the perfect match for their vision. Once that style was created I storyboarded and sketched illustration concepts for each section of the video. I oversaw the process of matching the visuals with a voice-over and ultimately art-directing the final version of the video.

BAR Architects Sustainability

Sustainability Document

Using Hubspot, LinkedIn Paid & Organic, and gated content — the Ledger Enterprise marketing team created a Staking Campaign aimed to educate Custodians, Hedge Funds, and Crypto Exchanges on the power of staking with LE. As the sole designer on the project, I created two Linked In Sliders, a White Paper, a Hubspot Landing page as well as Social Banners and Email Signatures. The campaign generated over 700k impressions and 1,000+ landing page views.
